The Big Horses

STELLA

Stella is our gorgeous American Warmblood who has not had an easy life. She was gifted to us by a cowboy that didn’t know much about her past. My oldest daughter, also Stella, feel in love with her and started doing her research. She was able to uncover so much of her past. Stella had a filly at the youthful age of 4. Her owner and breeder was going through a rough patch in life and found herself in trouble and going to jail. Thinking that she was “hiding” her horses to
avoid her parents selling them, she placed a handful of her top horses (including Stella and her filly) in a field with no food or water. Praise God the horses were found; the grass had all been
eaten down, but they were all alive. All of the horses were taken to a rescue and eventually adopted out.

Stella struggled with PTSD that left her filled with crippling anxiety. She went from home to home and even returned at on point back to the rescue. Stella has been with us for 5 years now and she is proof that love, consistency, and meeting right where she was at was all
she needing to start the healing process. We love her tremendously and thank her for her willingness to love again. Stella is a starter in the  program and also our oldest horse at young age of 20.

SPY

Spy is a gentle giant. Standing at about 17 hands, he is the tallest horse on the farm. Spy is a Kentucky-born thoroughbred and was bred to be a race horse. A broken leg ended his racing career but thank goodness he was offered a second chance. He went on to have a few different homes but and by the goodness of God he was given to us by an amazing woman. Spy is a farm favorite with his gentle, loving and goofy horse-onality.

LEAH

Leah is a gorgeous Selle Francais. She came to us under some pretty unique circumstances. She is extremely sensitive and she struggles with some nerve issues. Leah is so sweet and she is also the lowest on the totem pole out in the herd. She is one of the only big horses that I trust with the minis. We are so blessed to have her in our program. Fun Leah fact: she loves going out on trail rides but arena riding is not her thing.

MUDPIE

Oh Mudpie, everyone needs a Mudpie. He is stubborn, safe, consistent, pushy, kind and all pony! Whenever I work with him, the theme song from “My Little Pony” plays on repeat in my mind. Muddy’s quirks teach kids (and adults) all the right things. He can go anywhere and do anything! No matter what you’re doing with him, he’s the same pony every time. Boy do we love him! However, he lives up to his name when it rains, going from grey to brown in a matter of minutes. He has a heart of gold and such a pleasure to work with.

KITKAT

KitKat is an Appaloosa/Thoroughbred and she is also known as the spotted booty beauty. This horse has known nothing but love since she was born. She is a gigantic puppy dog who wishes she could curl up in your lap. Two of her favorite things are booty scratches and food. KitKat is truly beautiful inside and out.
